Jones Lang LaSalle supports World Green Building Week

London, 12th September 2011 - Jones Lang LaSalle will be supporting World Green Building Week, which will be held between 19 and 23 September 2011.  World Green Building Week is celebrated annually across the globe to raise the profile of green buildings on international scale and draw attention to their role in the creation of healthier, more sustainable communities.

This year’s theme is green buildings in the new economy and International Green Building Councils and their members will organise a series of activities designed to reflect what sustainability means to them in relation to their specific built environments.  These activities will range from galas, festivals, site and building tours, conferences, panel discussions and online seminars.  Green buildings will be put under the spotlight, green policy will be debated and best practice recognised.

Andrew Gould, CEO of Jones Lang LaSalle UK will deliver a keynote address at the event launch reception on 19 September.   Commenting on Jones Lang LaSalle’s involvement, Andrew Gould said; “As a global real estate company firmly committed to the green agenda, Jones Lang LaSalle is pleased to support this excellent global initiative.  Sustainable buildings can have significant and diverse positive impacts on the economy, the environment and society in general. I urge all companies to tackle sustainability head-on.   According to our recent Offices 2020 research, 83% of our clients believe that sustainability is the most pressing issue facing the office real estate sector. Those companies who succeed in the economy will be the ones who recognise sustainability as both a force for rapid change and an opportunity.”
