Flexible Office Space
Market update for the first half of 2021
Take-up and volume in the flexible office space market plummeted during the Corona pandemic and has been slow to recover. Lockdowns and regulatory restrictions in many areas of life unsettled operators and led to delayed flexible office openings and even to lease reversals. But things are slowly picking up again. The market is recovering, operators are investing and renting again. And in between all this, our working world has abruptly changed, favouring flex office space models: from hybrid concepts, business centres to coworking spaces. The demand for flexible, geographically unbound working has been rising significantly again for several quarters. Employees work from home, on the move and from the office. Flexible offices will establish themselves even more strongly in the office market.
This report provides an overview of the development in the flexible office space market since 2010 until the end of the first half of 2021.
